REELzHOT is a REAL RIP-OFF!



Signing up for a "FREE TRIAL" to watch streaming movies while abroad, I had to provide a credit card to start the trial. REELzHOT, https://reelzhot.com/users/loginpage, has their site set-up so that the next time you log-in to use your "FREE" trial, you have to click on some buttons to accept their "terms and conditions". Buried in those terms and conditions is a stipulation that you must "CANCEL" your membership within 5 days AND, being abroad, I could only cancel online and be charged to do so. Can you say scam? Rip-off?

Well, I missed the terms and conditions buried somewhere in the numerous pages of legal mumbo jumbo stating that I had to cancel MY FREE TRIAL within five days and, lo and behold, a charge for $49.95 appeared on my credit card five days later! $49.95 a month for a bunch of crappy, old, B-movies is ridiculous in its own right, so I went to the FAQs page. At the very top of their "Support" page, http://reelzhot.com/pages/supportin bold, blue lettering, is the FAQ: "Why was I charged $49.95 when I signed up for a free membership?" This is obviously a very common problem for their customers, to be so prominently displayed at the very top of their support page, so why do they continue to deceive their customers? How do they expect to stay in business ripping people off? In any event, I sent to following email to their support team:
$49.95 for a FREE membership?  It's obvious that I'm not the only one with this problem since it is AT THE TOP OF YOUR FAQs! Can you say CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?...SURE YOU CAN!Please reverse this charge, in its entirety immediately, cancel my membership, and send me a confirmation. I agreed to a trial membership and not an auto upgrade to the standard monthly membership plan.  I should have known better than to give my credit card number for a :free trial".If you DO NOT reverse the charge COMPLETELY in the next 48 hours, I will contact my bank to have the charge reversed, then the BBB, the FCC, and the Attorney General of the United States to report your fraudulent practices. I will also contact dailytechpost.com, About.com, TrickTacToe.com, and Butterblog http://blog.buttermouth.com/2007/06/top-25-places-to-watch-free-movies-and.html to inform them of your fraudulent practices. Check out my blog, www.InstitutionalTerrorism.com, where your website will be prominently featured unless you comply within the next 48 hours. You have until 6:02 AM (CST) on 7/14/2012 to send my confirmation.
Well, true to my word, here is my post because the completely ignored me! I just filed a dispute with my bank and as soon as I return home in two days, I will file my complaint with the FCC, BBB, and U.S. Attorney General. We will see how much it will cost REELzHOT to answer those complaints...much more than the $49.95 the ripped me of for.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, USE REELzHOT OR SIGN UP FOR THEIR BS "FREE TRIAL"! Their movies suck and they obviously could care less about their customers!

After sending a second email with a link to this post, I received the following:

I did receive the refund, but that does not excuse the deceptive practices they use or the crappy movies they make available.

BOTTOM LINE: CALL 1(800)851-2403 US, Canada and +00 1(925)826-0681 International IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL!

      I apologize for not replying sooner, but it sounds like you sorted things out. If not, what I did was post to my blog and send them an email with a link, telling them that if they did not remove the charge from my credit card immediately, I would DISPUTE the charge with my bank and contact the FCC about their fraudulent practices. They actually replied quite quickly, reversing the charge and sending me the email I also posted on the blog.

  4. its so nice to see someone standing up to them and getting results! I just i same dumb move but have not been charged the membership fee I have not been able to watch movies though since their links send me in circles. Do you know how to cancel the membership before it expires? So I don't suffer from my own stupidity.

  5. To forwarn those who play Free-to-play games that have some currency you can buy with real money or earn through 'free' offers: Reelzhot.com often shows up as one of the free offers (earn x amount by signing up for a free trial). Unfortunately, I did just that without realizing the danger.

    It also seems that their site is down now, so dunno if they finally got in trouble or what. Hopefully this doesn't mean I've just been totally screwed. Charge showed up today so maybe I still have time to dispute it if that's the case and get my money back.

    I have just discovered a charge on ,my account from reelzhot which took place during an overseas visiti to London UK last month.

    I sent them an e-mail stating also that I have contacted your website which will follow-up on this event. I also talked to them and they said they will refund and cacell my membership. Let's see what happens ...

  8. I was scammed by reelzhot for 51 USD. I wanted to watch a boxing fight on boxinguru.eu.They offered to upload the videoplayer and asked for my billing information pretending they want to check my country.I believed them.So, I didn`t even want what their site offers.Now I try to get my money back

    Thanks for information Combat Critic.By the way,the Local Military Centre here in Romania just called me and yesterday they renewed my mobilisation order in case of war.I was in the army 6 months, mandatory service for college graduates.Here it`s an odd situation.Military is now professional but in case of war all people with military preparation wiil be called to serve and all young people under 27 years will remain at least until they receive a minimal military preparation.

Hello, I just noticed the bogus $49.95 dollar charge from Reelzhot on my bank statement and immediately called them to cancel my account, however when I asked for a refund they told me that they have a strict refund policy and that I cannot receive one. I figured I wasn't the only person to fall for this scam and then I found your site. I plan on sending them an email now with a link to this site.

  13. Hello, i'm so glad I digged further and found this site, cuz I nearly gave up after I read the terms and conditions on the site, which says updated membership through free trial will not be refunded after cancellation.
    I've sent email to them and also got reply that I can get refund. Hopefully I will get my money back. I will keep you posted.

I was ripped off too I rang 02031264200 from uk the lady was quite helpful really and even though I was seriously peed off it was hard to be mad at her I have bin told that my subscription has bin cancelled and that iwill receive a refund within 15 days although at first she tried to get me to use the site for the month I paid for bloody cheek,well we will see I let it be known to her what I thought of the company too.im still going to my bank though to make sure they don't take any more.i hope this helps anyone who has bin conned.

  17. Sorry my fist comment was not puplished. I trie now since 3 houres to solve this problem with to delete my stubid account which I did today. I am afraid to run out of time and that they will charge me. I dont know why I did this account I am not from an English speaking country and I was thinking its normal to sign with the Bankaccount because I have seen it by so many accounts (How foolish I was) I also believed that this side is really free of charge like they wrote it in the discribtion.

    Now I wrote already an Email to the company with the expection that they will cancel my account. I have tried to delete it directly on the page like the description told me. After it pressed enter for the cancelation there was just a short comment that my account is deleted now but I have no proof and I think this doesnt hold water. So I tried to convince them via my email to cancel my membership.

    That was my email:

    Dear Sir or Madam


    I am writing with regard to your E-mail I received about the membership account on reelzhot.com. There was written that I have to pay a charge of 49,00 Dollars after 5 days of use without canceling. I already tried to cancel the membership account on Reelzhot.com and followed the instructions but I have no proof or confirmation that my account is canceled.


    Now, I order you to cancel my account and to send me an confirmation about the cancelation.

    I expect your answer until Thursday, the 27. of November, 11.00 am, otherwise I have to take legal steps against this.



    So how you obiously can see I am really worried about this problem:/ Can you please tell me what you think about my mail and if they will answer me? How I already told im NOT from an English Speaking country I am from Europe and it might be that I have through this fact an even bigger problem.

    Thanks for any help, maybe you will rescue my wallet ;/
